Summer Fridays ShadeDrops SPF 30 Mineral Milk Sunscreen – Amazing Results

I recently purchased the Summer Fridays ShadeDrops SPF 30 Mineral Milk Sunscreen and want to share my thoughts with yall. Summer is in full swing, which means we are outside getting those rays in, getting a tan, etc., but we need to remember to protect our skin against the effects of the UV rays.

Sunscreen isn’t only for people with a lighter complexion, so melanin besties; this applies to you too. I used to think I didn’t need SPF, too, but I saw some pictures online showing the effects of not keeping your skin protected, and I was convinced. Ya, girl wants to stay looking youthful for as long as I possibly can. Oh, there is also the fact that you can get skin cancer, and I don’t know about you, but I don’t want that either…

I have been testing different sunscreens for the face to ensure they don’t have me (you, too) looking casket ready. I have found a few gems and am glad to share them with you!

The Product – Summer Fridays ShadeDrops SPF 30 Mineral Milk

The first sunscreen for the face I am going share with y’all is the Summer Fridays ShadeDrops Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Mineral Milk Sunscreen. I am not going to lie to y’all when I saw that this was a mineral sunscreen, I was SCARED because I have been burned in the past by other mineral sunscreens.

They turned me blue y’all. I have discovered that this happens because of a specific ingredient that turns you blue/grey, AKA casket ready. That ingredient can be Zinc Oxide or Titanium dioxide; according to some research (a quick Google search lol), these ingredients act like a “protective layer to block out skin cancer-causing rays,” so looking a little blue is okay because we don’t want cancer.

I had heard that this mineral SPF was different, so I bought it and prayed to the SPF Gods to bless me, and they definitely answered my prayers.

I was genuinely in SHOCK when I rubbed it in because it looked like it would turn me into a smurf but dissolved into my skin, leaving a barely noticeable blue tinge which I can work with.

Overall, I really enjoyed this sunscreen from Summer Fridays. I have been using it for a few days now and still love it. It works great under makeup, too, which makes it even more impressive. Though one thing I would mention is that it isn’t waterproof, so if you’re swimming or sweating, it can turn white/blue.

Final Thoughts on the Summer Fridays ShadeDrops Mineral Milk Sunscreen

I give the Summer Fridays ShadeDrops Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Mineral Milk Sunscreen a 4/5!

☀️I love the fact that this SPF has a milky consistency. It isn’t a stark white colour, so I appreciate the beige tint of the SPF.

☀️ It is relatively easy to blend in, which I appreciate. No casket ready, Adwoa, yay!

☀️ It does leave a slight blue tinge, but that’s inevitable due to the ingredient Zinc Oxide. That being said, if I let the product on my skin for 10-15 minutes, the blue disappears

☀️ This is an SPF 30 sunscreen, so sadly, I had to dock some points for that. If it was SPF 50, then it would’ve gotten a 5/5.

Overall, this Summer Fridays Mineral sunscreen didn’t leave me looking like a smurf or casket ready, so I would definitely say that is a MAJOR win. Summer Fridays, y’all killed it with this product, but I am not surprised because I have loved every product I’ve tried!
